Meet Aaron
Since I was young, I was always involved in community sports, soccer, baseball, basketball, etc. Having grown up in Maine, I experienced down hill skiing, cross country skiing, ice skating, and mountain biking on a regular basis.
My true passion for fitness originates from running cross country and track in high school and rowing for four years in college at Bucknell University, competing all over the east coast. After college, I remained fit, but had no outlet to express my fitness through. I continued to run and but also road biked in Philadelphia, eventually moving to Harford County with my family. For a period, I coached track and field to high schoolers and was in great shape due to job specific training. However, after gaining weight, recognizing that my fitness had slipped through the cracks, and being injured, I was invited to a free week at the box during the Open in 2016 by one of the original members. After the first week, I immediately found the outlet I had been looking for and quickly built the strength I was missing. The community drew me in and kept me involved, progressing from workouts to competitions, half marathons and other fitness events. I believe that every person, regardless of experience in the gym has strengths and weaknesses, from novice to the most experienced, and that we can recognize and conquer those weaknesses through practice and training. With encouragement, a want to help others, and be a contributor to the box, I completed the Level One Seminar at the end of 2017. |
